Bio

Andrew has enjoyed a successful investment banking career spanning power 30 years, during which time he has nurtured strong relationships with many major UK and International institutions as well as Corporate clients. He was employed by Hoare Govett ABN AMRO for 11 years before founding Oriel Securities (with the backing of Vitol) from scratch as Joint CEO. Oriel grew under his leadership to employ nearly 100 people, and have a valuation of approximately £40m when he sold his stake. Andrew later became CEO of Blue Oar Plc, where he successfully turned around its UK securities operations and its private client division as well as starting an asset management division. During his period as CEO, Blue Oar Plc made three successful acquisitions.

VSA Capital was acquired in August 2010 as a trading name and Andrew has rebuilt it into a successful Investment Banking and brokerage firm.

Andrew has a broad range of Corporate Finance experience in the equity capital markets and private arena gained over 30 years. He commenced his career at the investment bank, Barclays de Zoete Wedd. Following three years in family owned businesses in Central Europe, he joined the Corporate Finance Team at Albert E Sharp Securities. Subsequently he worked in senior roles at Arthur Andersen, Ernst & Young (as Head of the Regional Capital Markets team), Arden Partners, Libertas Capital and Blue Oar Securities (as Head of Corporate Finance) and Shore Capital.

In addition to providing general Corporate Finance advisory services and fundraising, Andrew has particular responsibility for developing VSA’s activities in the UK public company markets. These include public company takeovers and mergers, AIM and Main Market listings and acting as corporate adviser and broker.

David has over 30 years’ international sales experience in global equity and commodity markets. He commenced his career at the Canadian investment dealer Wood Gundy which was ultimately taken over by the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC). His 27 years career at CIBC saw him undertake North American Sales roles in London, Paris and Tokyo and in the latter stage run the Canadian Equity desk in London. Prior to joining VSA Capital, he spent 2 years’ at GMP Securities in a specialist sales role focusing in natural resources equities in Australian, North American and UK markets. He is also an Associate member of the CISI.

Ed has worked as an equity analyst for the past seven years and in the broader market research sector for more than 10 years. He has been highly ranked in the ‘UK Small & Mid-Caps: Consumer Goods’ category of the Extel Survey for the past four years.

In his role at VSA Capital, he evaluates primary opportunities and provides thematic and specific stock coverage in the global agriculture, renewable energy and cleantech sectors. In addition to this, he runs the research team, co-coordinating output from analysts across the oil & gas and metals & mining sectors.

Edward has a BSc in Mathematics and Artificial Intelligence and an MSc in Microsystems and Nanotechnology.

Jason Gebbink has nearly 10 years’ experience in debt and capital markets. He commenced his career as Head of International Operations and Risk Management for Fixed Income and Equities at a family office spanning both the United States and Europe. Throughout his tenure Jason received experience in all aspects of fixed income market activities creating a holistic understanding of fixed income markets and processes dealing with clients and counterparties in Asia, Europe and US.

In his role at VSA Capital he evaluates and analysis potential investment opportunities by using internally generated models which help identify the best risk/reward opportunities for our clients.

Brendan started his career at KPMG South Africa in Industrial and Automotive Audit and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2007. Thereafter, he relocated to the London. Since arriving in the United Kingdom, Brendan has worked in senior roles in both Finance/Risk for FTSE listed majors within both energy and financial services sectors specialising in business performance, risk analysis and control.

Brendan joined the VSA Management Team in 2017 as Chief Financial Officer with responsibility for Finance, Human Resources, Risk and Compliance.

Alvin has extensive transaction and valuation experience across a wide spectrum of industries including technology, retail, healthcare, industrial products and renewable energy. His primary focus at VSA is deal sourcing and origination through the well-established network of investors including both Chinese and International Private Equity Funds, Venture Capital Funds and Family Offices.

Alvin started his career at Lehman Brothers in Corporate Finance based in New York City covering the TMT sector. Thereafter, he moved to Houlihan Lokeys Hong Kong office as a Senior Associate, covering the Greater China and Southeast Asia region. After Houlihan Lokey, Alvin took up a role as a Vice President at the Duff and Phelps Shanghai office providing advisory services on cross-border transactions and joint ventures.

Feizhou has a broad range of finance and investment experience specialising in international business. He commenced his career working for G Asset Management Hedge Fund Please in New York as an Investment Analyst. Thereafter, Feizhou moved to Cambridge Hanover, a Connecticut based real estate private equity firm, as Investment Manager where he underwrote over 100 investment opportunities worth over USD50 million inside two years.

He returned to China to serve as Executive Director of Shanghai Feizhou Group to oversee investment and financing of commercial real estate assets.
