Old Fireplaces and Chimneys … the stuff of nightmares …
When we moved in this fireplace had been stuffed full of rubble. Every time it rained the chimney breast sweated buckets and we thought we needed the flashing sorted. Years of problems had caused the wallpaper to bubble and bulge in a really ugly fashion.
However an afternoon and several rubble sacks later and the chimney visibly breathed a sigh of relief. That was a year ago and since then not a droplet of water has appeared on the chimney breast. I discovered that under it, the plaster was no longer …
